FUNCTION TO MARK COMPLETION OF 80 YEARS OF GLORIOUS SERVICE BY MALWA KHALSA SCHOOL DHURI ( SANGRUR ) PUNJAB ON 20TH MAY 2012

                                  An impressive function was held in the premises of Malwa Khalsa Sen. Secondary School Dhuri on 20th May 2012 under the guidance of Air Marshal (Rtd.) Randhir Singh Ji, Patron of Alumni Association. The team under the leadership of Shri Harjit Singh Sohi, I.R.S., Chairman of the association made very good arrangements for the guests. The Management of the school was present in the function under the leadership of Capt. Gurjit Singh Jawanda, President. Many old teachers, school heads were present in the function. Old students of the school from various parts of the country were present. The association honoured six students of the school who secured first three positions in matric and 10+2 examinations held in March 2011.
                                 The association also honoured ex-students of the school who were born in 1932 or before. Shri Krishan Lal Garg ( ' Kishie' to his old classmates ) an eminent writer, who is an ex-student of this school, was honoured by the association for his valuable contribution to Punjabi literature. He shared experiences of his life as a student and the lifestyle of students staying in the hostel of the school in the fifties.
                                 
                                  In his concluding remarks, Air Marshal ji requested the school to ensure clean drinking water for the students and to save the young minds from menance of drugs. Shri Sohi assured the management of the school of continued co-opration to the school in providing better facilities to students. He emphasised the complementary nature of functioning of the alumni association.The function concluded with vote of thanks by Shri N.S. Pandher. The association expressed its gratitude to Shri Ramandeep Singh ( Jolly ) Sidhu for excellent catering arrangements made by  Sangam Caterers, Patiala.
                                  Shri Harbans Dhillon, an eminent pencil sketch artist, held an exhibition of his sketches on this occassion.  .
