FUNCTION TO MARK COMPLETION OF 80 YEARS OF GLORIOUS SERVICE BY MALWA KHALSA SCHOOL DHURI ( SANGRUR ) PUNJAB ON 20TH MAY 2012

                                  An impressive function was held in the premises of Malwa Khalsa Sen. Secondary School Dhuri on 20th May 2012 under the guidance of Air Marshal (Rtd.) Randhir Singh Ji, Patron of Alumni Association. The team under the leadership of Shri Harjit Singh Sohi, I.R.S., Chairman of the association made very good arrangements for the guests. The Management of the school was present in the function under the leadership of Capt. Gurjit Singh Jawanda, President. Many old teachers, school heads were present in the function. Old students of the school from various parts of the country were present. The association honoured six students of the school who secured first three positions in matric and 10+2 examinations held in March 2011.

                                 The association also honoured ex-students of the school who were born in 1932 or before. Shri Krishan Lal Garg ( ' Kishie' to his old classmates ) an eminent writer, who is an ex-student of this school, was honoured by the association for his valuable contribution to Punjabi literature. He shared experiences of his life as a student and the lifestyle of students staying in the hostel of the school in the fifties.
                                 
                                  In his concluding remarks, Air Marshal ji requested the school to ensure clean drinking water for the students and to save the young minds from menance of drugs. Shri Sohi assured the management of the school of continued co-opration to the school in providing better facilities to students. He emphasised the complementary nature of functioning of the alumni association.The function concluded with vote of thanks by Shri N.S. Pandher. The association expressed its gratitude to Shri Ramandeep Singh ( Jolly ) Sidhu for excellent catering arrangements made by  Sangam Caterers, Patiala.
                                  Shri Harbans Dhillon, an eminent pencil sketch artist, held an exhibition of his sketches on this occassion.  .

The office space provided by the school management to our association has since been renovated completely. The new office will be inaugurated by our patron Air Marshal (Rtd) Randhir Singh on Sunday the 20th May 2012.

Senior students to be honoured on 20th May 2012

The Executive Committee has decided to honour students of Malwa Khalsa High School Dhuri who were born in 1932 or before in a function to be held on 20th May 2012 on the occassion of completion of 80 years of existance of the school. PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN BY ASSOCIATION

        The association has donated five computer systems to the school for use by the students in school's computer lab.

PROPOSED PROJECTS

        

       We propose to honour meritorious students of the school who have secured Ist three positions in the school in Middle, Matric and Sen. Sec. examinations.; The student securing Ist positions will be paid a sum of Rs.3100/-, Rs.2100/-for 2nd position.and Rs.1100/- for 3rd position.

        We propose to hold health checkup camps for students of the school

        We propose to provide better infrastructure facilities for the students, as per requirements.

The association has been formed with the objective of encouraging fellowship among old students and work for the welfare of students of the school.

CELEBERATION OF 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF SCHOOL

              Malwa Khalsa High School ( now Sen. Sec.) Dhuri started functioning on 21st May 1932. The school will complete 80 years of service to the society in the field of education / sports / cultural activities on 20th May 2012. The alumni association will organise an impressive function to mark this occassion. All old students of the school are cordially invited to attend this function. Detailed program will be put up very shortly.

Formation of Alumni Association

              A meeting of old students of Malwa Khalsa School Dhuri was held on 4th December 2010 in the school premises. A large number of old students from different parts of  India and abroad took part in this meeting. It was felt that a body of old students of the school may be formed to enbable old students to keep in touch with each other and undertake some welfare projects for the students of the school. Accordingly, Air Marshal (Rtd.) Randhir Singh ( Bhasaur wale ) was requested to become patron of the proposed body, which he accepted. Shri Harjit Singh Sohi I.R.S., Commissioner Income Tax was unanimousely appointed chairman of the proposed body and he was authorised to frame the constution and bye-laws of the body and get it registered as a charitable society with competent authority.
               In compliance with the wishes of the students gathered in the meeting in December,2010, a society in the style of " Malwa Khalsa School Alumni Association, Dhuri " with head office in school building has since been got registered.
